Funmilola Ojelade is past chairperson of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Abuja Chapter. An acclaimed community organizer who has demonstrated passion for alleviating rural community issues and promoting the girl child in succeeding in STEM education, Funlola was appointed APWEN Brand Ambassador in October 2014.
She is a Chemical Engineer at the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc. (The Mint), the sole manufacturer of banknotes in West Africa. In 14 years of working with the Mint, Funlola has progressed through the Supply Chain, handling various responsibilities in the Research and Development unit, Quality Control, Production and Procurement. She presently works as Project Manager for the company’s various ad-hoc projects.
She is a Chattered Engineer registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, and a Master’s degree in the same field from the University of Lagos. Presently, she is working on a Master’s degree (Finance) at Harvard University.
